Changsha Roots blower rising ring seal is a common means of sealing, this seal because of the use of self-tensioning sealing ring with a notch (rising ring) and named, is a use of the principle of blocking and throttling sealing device. A number of (usually 2~4) rising rings are fitted into the inner hole of the machined sealing seat on the shaft sleeve, forming a pre-tight seal in the outer circular part of the rising ring.

The gas can only leak downstream through the gap between the ring and the ring groove. When working, the rising ring is tightly attached to the downstream end face of the ring groove under the action of gas pressure difference on both sides. Into the gap of high-pressure gas filled with backlash space, so that the rising ring outer circle and the sealing seat of the inner diameter of the seal further strengthen the seal, the remaining leakage channel is only the rising ring of the incision. Most of the rising ring is made of cast iron material, which requires high precision. It can automatically compensate for wear and tear and has a longer service life. Since it is a contact type seal, the sealing effect is better, and it needs to be lubricated with grease when it is used.
