Seal structure characteristics of Roots blowers
Roots blowers are usually sealed with three types of shaft end seals: gland type, skeleton type and mechanical seal.
1 Pressure cover type
This is a simple structure, more commonly used form of sealing, mostly used for conveying air. There are four gland type seals in connection with the cylinder, and several rings of asbestos oil packing are installed in the packing box of the gland, in order to reduce the axial length, the sealing is considered to be close to the bearing at the time of design. During operation, the bolts around the gland can be tightened regularly to keep the gas from leaking out.
2 Skeleton
Skeleton seals are generally skeleton rubber oil seals, each set of seals consists of two or three J-shaped skeleton rubber oil seals, two of which are mounted back-to-back on the inside in contact with the conveying medium, and the other side is mounted on the outside, in the middle of the grease can be injected. The whole sealing parts are installed in a sealing jacket to form a component. The structure of the sealing effect is good, can be used for high speed blower.
3 Mechanical Seals
For blower conveying special media (such as conveying media flammable, explosive, highly corrosive, toxic, harmful), then the shaft seal structure using mechanical seals. Mechanical seal has the advantages of reliable sealing performance, small leakage, long service life, small power loss, no need for frequent maintenance, and can meet the production automation and high temperature, low temperature, high pressure, high vacuum, high speed and a variety of flammable, explosive, corrosive media sealing requirements.
