Fitting clearance - the clearance inside the housing of the bearing assembly to the shaft. The size of the clearance is determined by the amount of interference. The fit clearance is smaller than the original clearance.

Working clearance - bearing in the work, due to the temperature difference between the inner and outer sleeve so that the fit clearance is reduced, but also due to the role of the work load, so that the rolling body and the collar to produce elastic deformation and make the clearance increased, but in general, the working clearance is greater than the fit clearance.

 

Axial clearance of bearings Some bearings, due to structural characteristics, the clearance can be determined by adjusting the mutual position of the bearing rings during assembly or use, such as centripetal thrust ball bearings, tapered roller bearings and bidirectional thrust ball bearings.

Bearing clearance is too large, will make at the same time bear the load rolling body reduction, bearing life; at the same time, will also reduce the rotational accuracy of the bearing, causing vibration and noise, when the load has shock, this effect is particularly significant. Bearing clearance is too small, it is easy to heat and wear, which will also reduce the life of the bearing. Many bearings have to be controlled and adjusted for clearance during assembly by making the inner and outer rings of the bearing do appropriate relative axial displacement.
